On November 25th 2021, Ensemble opened their overdose prevention site (OPS) to the Moncton community in New Brunswick as a response to the drug poisoning epidemic in Canada.

The Knowledge Translation + Evaluation (KTE) team at the Dr. Peter Centre have created a Community of Practice. This has involved the KTE team connecting organizations who have been facing the overdose epidemic through regular group video calls, virtual trainings, and knowledge sharing.

This experience in conjunction with the Dr. Peter Centre’s own experience in running a harm reduction site resulted in the KTE team working with the organization Ensemble in order to assist them in opening a supervised injection site in Moncton. The purpose of this collaboration was to increase knowledge and skills, as well as providing Ensemble with the opportunity to put these learnings into action.
