As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to present new challenges, historic, and systemic oppressors experienced by PWUD have only become more exacerbated. PWUD were already experiencing a lack of resources, lack of funding, and neglect by
the health care system. In the context of a global pandemic, these inequities have driven up risk for PWUD, and it is paramount that we capture this experience to prevent history from repeating itself.
This webinar will explore systemic- and community-level issues related to COVID-19 vaccine uptake among some communities disproportionately affected by HIV or hepatitis C who are also at greater risk for COVID-19. Experts will share their insights related to supporting these communities to gain access to and feel confident about COVID-19 vaccines, as well as the role of frontline HIV and hepatitis C service providers in supporting this effort.
